COVID-19 Update: How We’re Keeping Everyone Safe

At Elevate Salon Institute (ESI) in Royal Oak, the health and safety of everyone in our building is always a top priority. As we continue to stay open during the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re taking as many precautionary steps as possible to prevent the spread of the virus. Whether you’re a student or a guest, you can rest assured that we are doing our part to protect you. This is because we want you to feel safe and confident as you pursue your education.

Safety Measures

To safely allow students, guests, and staff to enter our school, we’re taking the following measures, as recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, to keep everyone protected from COVID-19.

• Masks are required for everyone in the building at all times.
• Temperatures are being taken at the door before anyone enters.
• Social distancing is implemented throughout the building. Every other salon station is being used.
• We use disposable hair capes in the student salon training area and students providing beauty services must wear gloves throughout the appointment.
• Hand sanitizer and isopropyl alcohol are available throughout the building.
• Professional cleaners come to the building several times a week.
• Thermal fogging is utilized to thoroughly disinfect and kill germs.
• Any student or member of staff who is experiencing symptoms will be asked to stay home and quarantine. Guests who are experiencing symptoms or have been in contact with someone experiencing symptoms will also be asked to stay home and reschedule appointments.

Per the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, it’s required to include proper sanitation and hygiene practices as a part of our cosmetology, esthetics, and manicuring curriculum.
