Speed Up Your Morning Routine With These Tips!

Getting ready in the morning can be a pain. Getting dressed, doing your hair and makeup, eating breakfast– it can all seem like a huge hassle when you just want to sleep. But, never fear, the team at Elevate Salon Institute (ESI), Royal Oak wants to help you out! Here are five hacks to speed up your morning routine and make life a little easier.

1. Prepare the Night Before

The first step to being quick in the morning is preparing the night before. Prepare your backpack/purse before you go to bed and lay out your outfit so it’s all ready to go. To make sure you’ve got a healthy, filling lunch for the next day, pack it ahead of time so you don’t have to scramble to prepare or cook something the morning of. You can even lay out your makeup, hair tools, and skin care products the night before to prevent any frantic searching the next morning.

2. Set Your Alarm an Hour Ahead

If you enjoy that snooze button a little too much, this tip is for you. Setting your alarm an hour early is a surefire way to make sure you’re always prepared and never late. By doing this, you’re giving yourself a full hour to hit that button a couple times, wake yourself up, and start getting things done. It could also be a good way to train your brain to get up earlier. Who knows? Maybe you’ll stop hitting the snooze button eventually!

3. Create a Skin Care Regimen

Taking care of your skin is a good thing, but if it’s making you late for school or work, there’s a problem. Developing a solid skin care regimen is a great way to speed things up in your routine. Figure out what products you need (cleanser, toner, moisturizer, serum) and have them ready in your bathroom. A skin care regimen can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. The key is to develop a system that works for you and your schedule. You won’t waste time using dozens of products you don’t need and your skin will thank you for the extra attention.

4. Master Your Makeup/Hair Routine

For those whose daily routine includes hair and makeup, it’s time to master your routine! Whether it’s beach waves and a full face of makeup, or no makeup and a ponytail, make sure you have time to do what you want. Similarly to the skin care regimen, you should choose which products you want to use and have them ready. Make sure to include all your tools like hairbrushes, hot tools, makeup brushes/sponges, and eyelash curlers. Creating a makeup bag that’s full of essential products is a great way to make sure you have everything you need each morning.

5. Eat an Energizing Breakfast

You’ve heard it a million times: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Eating a nutritious breakfast is the best way to kickstart your day. When you have energy from a healthy meal, you can power through that morning routine and get to work/school on time. Recipes like overnight oats, yogurt parfaits, egg casserole, freezer smoothies, and breakfast bars are delicious, healthy, and easy to make the night before. Cooking can seem like a lot of work, but you’ll be grateful when you have a delicious breakfast the next morning.
